Last week tried to use my dishwasher, first of all the lights were acting crazy, then it started the cycle, when it finished, the water did not drain. after cleaning the mess, i tried to run a quick rinse, but it did not work as well. once again the dishwasher didn't drain. what could the the issue?

Answer Al, First check and make sure the power supply connections in the junction box on the front frame of the dishwasher are good and tight. Then test or replace the control panel/keypad assembly 6-920244. The LED lights and keypad circuits are imbedded in the control panel, ir there is an issue with a pad circuit, it could cause the machine to stop in midcycle, etc.
Hello, I have a maytag quiet series 300, Legacy series. My problem is that I can chose any wash cycle and it will begin to fill with water like normal, but after it fills and the motor kicks in it will only run (the motor) for 3 seconds and then quits, this repeats 4 or 5 times and then the whole unit shuts off.

You will want to check the pump to see if there is something that is clogged in it. Unit having something jammed can cause unit to kick out on overload. You will also want to check the amp draw of motor when it turns on. The Amp draw should be approximately 3.2 plus or minus 10 percent. If over this then you have a bad motor. You can also check the resistance of the motor windings. The motor winding resistance should be 3 to 4 ohms.
