THE OVEN GOES TO BROIL AS SOON AS IT IS TURNED ON,WILL NOT GO TO BAKE AT ALL. IS THE TOUCH PAD BAD? HOW MUCH IS A NEW ONE?
Jimmy for Model Number RBS245PDQ6
Answer Jimmy, It does sound like a touchpad issue, but would expect you to have an error code (F1-E ? or F2-E?) eventually. But the control panel/keypad would be the place to start testing or replacing. Unfortunately the control panel [4451328] is no longer available from the manufacturer, and the {8300455] may or may not work on your unit.
E2 F3 code on built in oven, I have replaced the oven sensor. What should I do?
Larry F. for Model Number RBS245PDQ16
Answer Hello Larry,
The service manual says this about a F-3 E-2 code:
1. Check sensor connections.
2. Measure sensor resistance (1080O at 70°F ; add 2O per degree). If resistance is not valid, replace sensor.
3. If sensor resistance and connections are good, then the oven cavity temperature must have exceeded a safe level. Check for welded-closed relays on the control.
