Appliance: KitchenAid 36" Electric Built-in Downdrdaft Cooktop KECD866RWW00
My Repair & Advice
I am a RE/MAX agent and my seller had a cracked smooth-top electric cook top built into his kitchen island. He really didn't want to upgrade all his 21 year old appliances to stainless steel like I asked him to do, but he knew he had to do something about the busted cook top.
My client is not tech/internet savvy, so I snapped a photo of the model number sticker under the cook-top, and left. I went to my trusted appliance parts supplier website, AppliancePartsPros.com, and found a replacement glass in just a few moments.
The new glass was way cheaper than even replacing just the one appliance, so he agreed to pay for it if I ordered it. 2 days later it was on my porch! I took it to my seller's house, and with a screw driver and about 10 minutes, we had swapped the broken glass for the new one!
Now my client has a fully functioning (albeit dated) kitchen. He's happy and I have a more marketable house, so I'm happy too!
