Answer Hi Daniel. It is common this time of the year that varmits will come in for thr winter. Use the expandable spray foam in the cracks to keep them out. Part # TJMA-1-12X. There is a gap under the door to the front lip of the tub. It supplies incomming air. This is the entry and exit point. The mouse sttod up on the rack and smelled the water supply area. Then chewed its way through the cover mentioned, part # 99002948. They will chew on wires and the tub itself to get into the water area. Normally the water level will stay at the element area and not at all be a factor. Thank You.
