My dryer is not heating but the tumbler rotates. On starting, there's approx 10 sec lag until the igniter lites. It glows for about 20 secs and then shuts off. For the duration of our tests, it has not relighted. I have replaced the 2 gas valve solonoids/coils but no change in results. I've done an ambient temp continuity test on the igniter, flame sensor and high limit thermostat but all are OK. I don't have the ability to test these at a shut off temp. I have not tested the thermal fuse (don't know where it is) but I'd think if the igniter lights it would be okay--but perhaps not. Air flow shouldn't be a problem as the vents and dryer are fairly lent free. Any ideas?

When in the heat sensing or dry sensing mode the dryer will not shut off automatically after the clothes are dry. The last time it was used to dry two sheets it ran for over six hours. What switch should I be changing out??

The ignitor heats up and the gas burns for only 3 or 4 seconds. Could this be a bad cycling thermostat? Or do I have another problem?

My Maytag Dryer is no longer heating up. First I thought it was my igniter because that has broken before. But the igniter was not cracked, so I assumed it was not the problem (BTW, I replaced it anyways since it's been 8 years since the last time it was replaced). Then I checked the my gas coils and those register the correct resistance. The next check was the cycling thermostat. Based on a previous posting, the check for the thermostat was to 'check for continuity'. But the posting did not state if all leads should have continuity. It turns out that one of the leads from the temperature switch does not have continuity while the other 3 do. Can you confirm that all 4 leads supposed to have continuity. Thanks, Dan
