I have a problem with my Kitchen Aid microwave range that is 7 years old. when it's windy it makes noises. I look it up on the internet and some people talk about adding a light weight to the damper door to keep it from blowing open. My exhaust vents outside. I was wondering if the damper door might have a adjustment or a spring that might have gone bad that keeps the door close. Do you have any ideas how to fix this problem?

Our microwave has a vent cover (not sure if this is the right term) on top of our unit which is installed under a cabinet. When installed the screws mounting this piece to the microwave broke. It stayed in place until I took it off to clean. I do not see this item on the list of parts for our model. It is made of plastic and has very thin "rails".

Our combo microwave/hood vents directly out the wall to the outside. (Horizontal) It is freezing inside the unit and I feel cold air coming down underneath the hood. There is an exterior wall vent and I think the flap is working, at least I can hear something close when I turn off the fan. From the research I am doing, do I need to replace an internal damper attached to the back of the microwave? what about replacing the exterior wall vent? are there different quality dampers and vents I should consider to ensure a better seal?

How can I get a damper plate COVER? NOT the damper plate assembly. 8206442 is an assembly, not a cover.
