how can I tell if the damper is working on my jenn-air built-in refrigerator? the refrigerator side is freezing my food!
Answer Bob, You'll need to remove the upper panel(machine compartment cover), " TO REMOVE THE MACHINE COMPARTMENT COVER: Grasp the cover on the outer edges and lift up, then out and off. Set the cover aside.TO REPLACE THE MACHINE COMPARTMENT COVER: Tilt the top of the cover forward slightly and insert the top set of hooks into their matching slots.Follow by inserting the bottom set of hooks into their
appropriate slots. When the hooks are fully inserted, the cover securely settles into place." You should find the "tech data and test information sheet, and can conduct the diagnostic test mode(s). You'll also want to remove the glass top panel from the ceiling in the fresh food compartmernt, so you can observe and listen to the auto damper operate. if there is a fault, the motor and body are located in the freezer compartment, and will need to remove the ceiling glass panel etc. to access it. Good Luck and Thanks
