Answer John, It sounds like you may have a defrost problem with the unit. Check and see if there is any frost build up on the back wall of the freezer. If so, you will need to test the defrost heater and the defrost thermostat. They should read closed for continuity when cold. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. I will include a link at the end to assist you how to use the multi-meter if needed. If both parts are good, you will need to replace the defrost timer. Answer Hello John, When you pull the damper out of unit there will be a temp bulb. The warmer the bulb gets the more the damper door opens. The colder it gets the more it closes. It will not close completely as there will be a small opening.

Answer Hello Hugo, The issue is caused by a lack of air circulation. Think of it this way, cold air is heavier than warm air. When the fans are not running, the cold air will migrate to the bottom of the unit. It will also migrate to the fresh food side from the freezer side through the air return port. The fix is completely backwards from what logic dictates. You will need to set the freezer side a number warmer and the fresh food side a number COLDER. As I said, this seems backwards, but what this actually does is cause the unit to circulate the air properly and prevent the cold air from settling in the bottom of the fresh food side and freezing the items that should never freeze.

Answer Hello Bill, This unit does have a circulation fan in the freezer compartment that circulates the air into the refrigerator section. There is a damper/thermostat assembly 67003410 which may be causing problems. This is a mechanical damper and may be the cause. It is in the top at the back of the refrigerator compartment. Also make sure you do not block any vents which could cause freezing in crisper drawers.

Answer Hello Hannes, I know you checked the fan by the compressor since you mentioned the compressor, but did you check the fan in the freezer? These are problematic on this design machine. You need to stop the fan and see if, when you let go of the fan blade, it will start back up by itself. If not, the fan motor is defective and will require replacement. Also, check to insure it is running at full speed. These motors will run at an abnormally slow speed when the motor goes into partial failure. While you're in the freezer compartment looking at the fan, notice if there is a frost build-up on the evaporator area. If there is a defrost issue, the unit will not be able to circulate the cold up to the fresh food compartment. The cold air will just settle in the freezer compartment. If the fan is running up to speed and you have no defrost issue, you should check the damper assembly for a frost build-up. This is the part that controls the air flow to the fresh food compartment. If it is restricted or frozen up, the cold air from the freezer compartment cannot get into the fresh food compartment. If you do find a frost build-up in the damper assembly, you need to check both door seals with a mirror and flashlight for air leaks. Air leaks cause a frost build-up of this nature.
