I replaced all 4 and vibration is worse. the springs look good no obvious damage...the only other thing i have heard of is the board...the drum seems to be horibly out of balance...if I push down and in on the front right corner of the outside of th machine it stops the banging noise but it is still jumping all over the place. I am at a loss...I will try to replace other low cost parts but I can by another new washer at Costco for 800.00 seems to be a better choice. If so I have 4 new Damber shocks I can sell someone cheap!
Answer William, A couple of things to try first. Level and lock the two rear and one of the front, levelling legs. Put the washer into a spin cycle and let it advance into the high spin speed, then adjust the loose front leg until there is no gap between the floor and the foot, and lock in place. The rattling noise in the right front corner is the cabinet front tapping the cabinet side panel, you could remove the front panel and tweak the interior flange or insert a foam pad, if you like, but the easier repair is to install a self tapping screw through the front panel bottom into the base of the washer to eliminate the vibration noise. You didn't mention any noises, so we'll presume the tub bearings are ok, and hope that none of the trundle/basket support arms aren't damaged. Good Luck and Thanks
How do you test the damper shock to see if it is responsible for shaking. Do all 4 need to be replaced at the same time?
Answer Hi William. The only way to test is to look and see if there is oil or grease leaking on the shaft, out from the shock cartridge itself. It can also w/ no resistence collasp itself. Part # 34001292. And yes they are normally all replaced at the same time because of the same age and possibility of near failure point. Thank You.
Vibration on spin.
Answer Hello. Inspect the shocks and tub support springs and make sure they are not broken or worn. Hope this helps.
