My freezer is cold but not freezing and the ice maker stopped working at the same time. The refrigerator seems the correct temperature. I have had problems in the past with a clogged drain pan and leaking/ice on the bottom of the freezer but I haven't seen that this time.

Answer David, Is there a heavy frost or ice build up on the back of the freezer wall ? This would indicate a defrost issue . But your first check needs to be at the condenser 61005452 and condenser fan 61002038. You'll need to move the refrigerator away from the wall, unplug the power cord,and remove the lower rear access panel. You'll need to clean out any debris on the inside and outside of the condenser, the fan, and the compressor, and the area. plug the power cord back in, turn the refrigerator on and make sure the fan runs at a high speed and moves the air through the condenser and over the compressor to cool it.
If the defrost control board is removed, will the compressor still get voltage?

If the defrost control is removed you will not get voltage to the compressor.
What part would cause this particular fridge to be stuck in defrost mode? There is not a defrost timer on this one.

Answer Hello Rich. If the unit is stuck in defrost, you will need to order and replace the defrost control board 61005988 in the unit.
