Would a defective defrost control cause the the refrigerator side to go up to about 50 degrees and stay there? If I unplug and defrost the entire side-by-side, and the refrigerator side worked for a few days and went back up to 50 degrees, what might that be symptoms of?

My freezer keeps everything frozen but fridge part not cold @ all. No air flow to fridge. Frost forming in back of freezer's wall. Motor doesn't seem to be stopping for defrost cycle. Should I replace Defrost Heater, Defrost Thermostat or Defrost Control?

My frige keep getting stuck in defost mode. I would then turn the themostat all the way off the back up and it would kick on. I replaced the defrost timer and now it keeps going into defrost about every hour.

I have model GDZ2766GEQ and the evaporator coil keeps icing up solid from top to bottom. I pull the back panel off the freezer and defrost and it will work fine for a month or so in the summer months. Through the winter I have no problems at all but as soon as the weather gets warmer it will start doing it again. Thanks

Not every time, but when my refrigerator goes into defrost, it stays in that mode and starts melting stuff in the freezer. If I turn the thermostat off and back on or sometimes just touch the knob the refrigerator comes back on. Also, if I turn the thermostat up above 4 it freezes the other side. What do you think? Bad thermostat? This model has a defrost board, not a timer.
