My ole faithful Whirlpool fridge has stop cooling and freezing properly. Freezer is at approx. 33 degrees and fridge approx. 45 degrees.
Answer Randy, Open the freezer door, remove articles off a couple of the freezer shelves and check for heavy frost or ice on the back wall of the freezer compartment. If frost or ice is present you have a defrost issue, and the air isn't circulating properly to cool the compartments. When you open the freezer door, you should hear or feel the evaporator fan circulating the air, if the compressor is running. If not running and no frost or ice, you'll need to check the evaporator fan.
Looking for location of defrost timer and a video if available. Took the control knobs and panel down in fridge section (side/side)
Not sure of next step--
Answer Bill, The defrost timer on your refrigerator is located on the base of the front of the refrigerator behind the kick plate grille. Once you remove power to the refrigerator and remove the grille on the bottom of the refrigerator, you'll see a bracket attached to the inside of the frame on the center brace. Remove the two screws holding the bracket to the frame and slide the assembly out. Remove the two screws mounting the timer to the bracket and reverse the process to install.
