Freezer fine plenty cold, frig warm, Evap not froze up fan running fine. Defrost and drain working right Seems like the damper closes after just an hr or less of run time and then does not open back up to send air into the refrig. section. The Sensor/Thermister is fairly new. How does it all work with the T-Stat and the board along with sensors. Sequence of operation. I really need to fix this.I tried to test the damper assy on my work bench. It will open and close with power to the right terminals. I wonder can it close on its own? I had changed the sensor about 1 mo. ago because the frig freezer was running way too cold. this did fix that problem. now 3 weeks later this new problem with the ref. section problem. Thanks larry B

Got the new diffuser 2216112. Looks identical to the old one except I noticed that the port to the upper connector has no electrical prongs. The lower one has 3. Does does that mean the top harness is no longer being used? What is that for? The old diffuser definitely had a broken shutter. However, after I put in the new one, the refridgerator section is too cold--like it never shuts close.

Hi I have this Kenmore Fridge and the freezer was working an the fridge wasn't. I replaced the defrost thermostat which was bad. Now the Damper door always closes like after 10-15 min and does not open . What do you suggest to replace the damper door or maybe the thermistor? I check the motor in the Damper has continuity the thermistor has on and off. Or maybe I need to change both. I just don't want to put in a new damper and if its that not the problem can I still return it?

We replaced the diffuser in our side by side refrigerator. It still does not cool the frig part enough. Do the thermistors ever go bad, is there a computer chip/board in the system? What else can we do to fix the problem?
