Food in the refrigerator freezes, not matter how high the temperature is set.
Answer Hello Kris,
Several things could cause this issue. If there is an air leak and a frost build-up is accumulating around the damper door 61003235, it may be remaining open. If so, the air leak at the ice door or around one of the door seals will need to be corrected. The next possible cause would be a defective auto damper assembly 61005989. If this does not appear to be the cause, the temperature control 61005516 may be defective.
1. How to replace the Diffuser by myself, if I buy the part from you?
2. Where can I find the nearest factory representative to fix it? Do you know how much the charge, part and labor?
To replace the diffuser in your refrigerator you will need to clear the top shelf of the refrigerator. On the left side wall there is a screw in the long piece between the diffuser and the control panel. Remove the screw and take that piece down. Then on the diffuser cover there will be another screw, remove it and diffuser cover. Then you will want to open the freezer door and take off the ice door and on the bottom of the right side of where the icemaker is there is a 1/4" screw. You will take out the screw and remove the cover over the wires of the icemaker that the screw was holding in place. Pull the icemaker out and disconnect the harness. At the top of the freezer there will be 2 screws for the icemaker ducting. Remove the screw and the ducting. Once this ducting is removed, on the right side wall you will see where the diffuser comes in. Push the corner tabs toward the center of the hole to release the diffuser. Reach into the refrigerator compartment and pull the diffuser out. There is a rod that connects to the diffuser that you have to turn the diffuser to a certain point to release the rod. You will remove the temperature probe that goes around the face and install the new part and reassemble. We also would not have any information on servicers or cost in your area as we are a parts supplier.
How can I replace the diffuser?
Answer Hello Jose. To remove the diffuser you will remove the screw on the cover of the diffuser. Once this is removed then you will open the freezer door. Take the door off the icemaker cover. Under the... more icemaker there is a 1/4" screw to remove. Once removed then take the cover off the wire harness this is where you just took the screw out. Push in on flapper and pull the icemaker out. Remove the 2 screws holding the air duct on the ceiling out. Once this is done pull out the air duct. There will be a clip on each corner of the air duct. Push them toward the center of the diffuser and pull out of other side. Reinstall in reverse.
