I have whirlpool dishwasher (40 years old) and purchased new gasket which I thought would address a leak. But its still leaking but not along the gasket but at the bottom of the door. Water and suds leak a little bit when washer. Any idea's what the problem may be?

Answer Hi Dave. Is the unit level front to back and side to side? First insure this is correct. This way it will not leak out the front. If you replaced the door gasket, you need to very carefully open the door just enough to stop wash cycle during wash. Then wait to let the water run down the inner door (15-20 seconds) before opening fully. Then carefully look at the side of the inner door panel to see if the door panel itself is leaking out past the door gasket sides. Check to see if the inner door panel is nicked or scratched and is allowing door to leak. The inner door panel is part # 675628 which is no longer available. Are you adding way too much soap and the suds are leaking out the front or the float stem onto the top of the float switch? Again start it in a regular cycle and do not add soap. After a couple of minutes open the door (carefully) to see if there are suds galore. If so continually add a pitcher of cold water to the tub area and fill to a regular fill level = the element level. Then press cancel or drain over and over to flush out the over sud sing issue. Then cut back on the soap to one third only and see if you are using concentrated soap. Thank You.
