The black handle to open the dishwasher is broken at the hinge. the dishwasher works fine, except if you open the door while running it does not turn off And water will spray everywhere. do I need to replace the latch/door assembly or is there something else that would have to be replaced so the machine would turn off with the door open?

We bought my dad an admril dish washer about two or three years ago. His wife wash dishes a couple of nights ago and when it finished she went to unload and the latch handle is loose and it will not open. The part your finger apply to has no resistance at all, it just flops up and down. We tried to pull the unit out and realized that you have to open the door to take the screws out. Any ideas? Answer Hayden, If you grab either side of door at the top near the control panel and give the door a good jerk, the latch should release and door should open.

I'm uncertain as to why the dishwasher latch won't open without a tug on the top left corner (most likely wear and tear). Would I be better off to puchase the dishwasher latch assembly that includes handle, switches and latch or would part W10275768 that includes latch body and switches be a better option? Thanks for you help!

Answer Hello Pat, This sounds more like the unit is need of being properly leveled. When the unit is level the corners shouldn't catch on anything and the door should open smoothly.

My door latch is loose and hard to open. Your site says to use part W10130698 if you need the handle as well as switch. But you cross reference list says that part number is not compatible with MDAH950AWB so I'm not sure what to order.
