On my whirlpool dishwasher there is no power going to the inlet valve. I tested the float switch and it has continuity. I unplugged the inlet and tested the wires going to it nothing. I was wondering what the next step would be?

D/W about 3 yrs old But just installed 2/2015. Water was not entering machine. I have power to water valve and ohms within range. So I removed to see if screen was clogged. No. So i removed the screen (appeared to have a suction on it during removal) inside to me appears to be a restrictor. Piece had a round base with a tube and rubber flat washer/valve. Tube was facing water inlet side. To me it looked backward b/c base had grooves in the side that rubber washer would close from water pressure. I flipped this part around and re-install. Now water does enter into the system. My concern is if water entering to fast b/c i seen a little wet spot by inlet funnel on the side of D/W. So I don't know if you can answer this question unless you have an old part to look into it. Do you know which way this restrictor valve should face? the Tube facing the inlet side or toward the interior of the valve? I am ready to pull and put it back the way it was to see if it works now. But i would like to know the answer - could the valve been improperly assembled.

I recently did an overhaul job on my 15 year old Maytag MDB4000AWB dishwasher. I replaced all hoses, gaskets, seals, and washers and installed the pump rebuild kit. It now runs like a charm, BUT, there is a loud hum that lasts about a minute before the water inlet valve opens and starts filling the tub with water. It does this before every fill during the wash and rinse cycle. It goes away when the valve opens and starts filling. There are no hums at all while filling or the motor is running during wash and rinse. Could the water inlet valve cause this? It seems to be the obvious culprit.

My water inlet valve leaks. Is this fixable or does it need to be replaced? And I'm pretty sure its not leaking at the obvious connections.

The dishwasher stopped filling up with water last week. I replaced the water inlet valve this morning and the unit is still not getting water delivered to it. I can feel the inlet valve click on but no water flowing into to the unit. I did check the inlet water valve water supply hose to insure water was running into the valve and that checked out. So the problem seems to be from the valve to the injection hose. Any ideas or help will be appreciated. Steve for Model Number JDB4950AWP Jenn-air Dishwasher ANSWER Hello Steve, You can use a short piece of hose to allow you to blow through the injector hose and injector. The only problem these normally give is if a mouse chews through it and the water goes into the floor. I would try dis-connecting the outlet side of the water valve and see if it allows water to pass. It is much more likely to get a mechanically defective water valve than the injector stopping up. Be very careful doing this because water and electricity can create a dangerous situation. I would hold the valve over a cake pan or equivalent, (a non-conductive pan would be safer), and make sure it passes water when energized. Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Thursday, August 08, 2013 Flushed the injector hose. Water is flowing to the unit when connected directly to the waterline. How can I tell if I have a defective valve? I purchased it from your company how do I go about a return if it is indeed defective? Also could it be the water level control switch or the float that is not allowing the valve to open? Thanks.
