Answer Hello Joel! You will need to open the freezer door and look under the dispenser box. You will see the screws you will need to remove to change out the motor assembly. Remove the screws securing the motor and replace it with the new motor assembly. Hope this helps.

When I press the ice dispenser lever, the shute opens but no ice comes out. The motor makes no noise. I have taken the ice bin out and tried it. The motor does not try to turn. Thank you.

Answer Hello Joel! Make sure you are getting voltage to the motor when you are pressing the paddle. If you are, then it is bad and will need to be replaced, part number 2212363. If you are not, then you are looking at different parts to replace.

Part #2212363 Kitchaid side by side. During hurricane sandy, the ice melted and must have leaked into the auger motor. since it refroze, the auger has not worked. I took out the motor, thawed it out but it still doesn't work. Is there any way to test to see if the motor is ruined?

Answer Hello Berj,
You can test to see if you are getting power to the dispenser motor. If you are getting power to dispenser motor then the motor is seized and will need to be replaced. Test using multi-meter between L1 and neutral and you should be getting 120 vac when the dispenser lever is pushed and the light switch pushed in.
