My soap dispenser is not opening fully to let the soap out into the tub. Now when we wash and the machine has finished and you open the door and the dispenser door opens all the way. What do we need to fix this? Thanks!
Selma for Model Number mdb5601aws
Answer Hello Selma,
The dispenser door cannot open all the way because it hits the inside of the rack as per design. This is to calm sudsing during the initial water circulation and soap distribution. There is nothing wrong with this unless the soap is piled up under the dispenser door. If this is the case, the issue is either with water fill or water circulation.
Will this AP4113751 dispenser work on my dishwasher? Also we do have harder water. Is there a way to remove lime or clean the dishwasher?
Robb for Model Number whirlpool quiet partner III
Answer Robb, we will need your appliance model number to verify the parts used on your product. To clean the dishwasher initiate the rinse cycle (with an empty dishwasher). During the fill, open the door and add 1/2cup white vinegar to the water. Allow the cycle to complete without any detergent added. Once the cycle is complete run a normal cycle with detergent. This should remove lime build up and clean the inside of the dishwasher. Hope this helps, thanks!
Note: This question is for the older version of this part, but we thought you might still find it helpful
The soap dispensor door does not open. How can you test to see if the control panel is the problem or the wax motor in the dispenser itself is the problem
Don for Model Number jdb8910aws
Answer Don, to answer your question, yes you can test the wax motor by applying 120 volts to the wax motor if you have a test cord of some sort. Any kind of old lamp cord, or extension cord will work. If you have some alligator clips to put on the end of it that would be great. Very carefully, because this is a live check, hook the test cord to the two terminals on the wax motor. If the plunger moves then the wax motor is ok. It does move slow, so be patient. Also make sure the linkage it engages is working properly. If the wax motor does work, then you'll need to start backtracking to see if your putting out power from the board when the dispenser should be energized. Thanks.
