Thanks for this excellent forum and well-reasoned answers. I have carefully read all of the questions and answers in this section but haven't seen any that quite get to the heart of mine. I have water dripping from two areas of the plastic case for the "diverter motor" -- W10155344. It seems that this is pretty common fault, based on the comments of others. My questions: 1. When I think of "motor" in the context of a dishwasher, I think of an electrical device -- not moving water. Does this diverter motor assembly actually have water circulating in it. That is, is it possible that the leak originates from this plastic case, or is it dripping from somewhere above the plastic case onto the diverter motor assembly? 2. I would obviously prefer to dig into the machine only once, rather than, for example, replace the diverter motor, and then find that the leak is from another source, say a seal somewhere. Accordingly, do you have a recommendation as to what else should be replaced at the same time that the diverter motor is replaced. 3. Is the leakage from the diverter motor assembly a really common problem with Kitchenaid dishwashers? Ours serves a household of two people, is 5 years old, and has probably been leaking for quite a while. Thank you for your help.

I just replaced the motor diverter on my Kitchen Aid dishwasher. The leak I was trying to solve still happens. I can see water dripping out of the hole in the bottom of the diverter. The washer that the diverter's shaft sits against is hard and seems worn. Can I order just this washer as a part? If not, what's the part number for the piece the diverter gets attached to?

When replacing the diverter motor can the controller read its position or does it need to be set? If so how do I do this?

My kitchenaid washer is about three years old. I ordered a replacement diverter motor part AP4324941. It also included a wire harness with fuse part AP4319979. There were not any instructions on where or how to install this wire. I traced the wire harness back to where it plugs in but do not see a similar part installed. Is this a add on fuse that needs to be wired into the existing harness or is there somewhere else I missed looking for it? Thanks
