Answer Hello Peggy. The manufacture recommends using the adhesive when replacing the door gasket. The adhesive will help retain a better seal. This gasket does come with instructions to help you through the process. Hope this helps.

Answer Hello Rich, The door gasket kit 8193942 is the part that prevents water from splattering all over the kitchen. The outer frame seal 8269110 keeps things from getting past the edge of the dishwasher into the cabinet space. If I understand the question correctly, this should answer your question.

Answer Tom, As long as you follow the instructions that come in the kit, you should be fine. You may want to "clean" the tub flange, where the gasket adheres to it, with a little bit of rubbing or denatured alcohol first. If you do need to return the part, there should be no problems, APP has a "no hassle" return policy for the part, but you will be responsible for the return shipping.

Answer Hello Debbie. When installing the gasket 8193942, you should use a putty knife to seat the gasket into the channel. It can take time for these to form to the shape of the door. You can try heating the gasket, closing the door tightly and let it cool down to help form the gasket.
