I have a broken door latch handle (broken on both sides). Is there a way to install a new one without taking the whole door apart? Also, if I install a second spring on the other side wouldn't it be stronger and more balanced?

Answer Hi Denny. Make sure your unit is level side to side , front to back. All leveling legs touching the floor. This is the most common door latch failure issue cause. Then replace the latch assy. Part # 8193830 and you shouldn't need the 2- spring Part # 8268540 to operate as manufacturer designs. Thank You.
Where does the door handle spring go? It was off when we took the door apart.
