Just replaced the microwave light bulb and it worked fine for a few days, then it would only come on for a short period of time after opening the door and then it stoped coming on at sll. I thought it must be the latch switch and I pushed the white plastic rocker back and pulled it forward again with no change except now the microwave thinks the door is still open even when latched. Any idea of what is wrong?
Ken for Model Number Kitchenaid kemc377 double oven
Answer Hi Ken. Remove the power and disconnect the door switch wires off the switch part # 4375346. Then connect them together (temporarily) to see if the circuit completes now and the cavity light goes out. The Red,Black connects to the common of the switch and the brown wire and the blue wires feed the light transformer and the control board. This is the side of the switch/cam assy. you will need. I am unable to decipher by the parts breakdown which switch is what side so I will give you both. The lt. side switch/cam assy. is part # 4375335. The rt. side is part # 8204832. What is the rest of the model # after KEMC377..........? We will need this to help get the correct part #'s to you. Thank You.
HI, 1. my microwave light is also not working anymore. Which light bulb should I buy? 2. I pull the microwave/oven combo out but didn't see the light bulb, do I have to unscrew the side panel to find the socket? Is it difficult to do? Is there a diagram on your side that can give me some idea? Thanks for all your help.
Tuoya for Model Number KEMC308KSSO
Answer Tuoya, The part number for the microwave cavity light bulb is W10440740. To replace the bulb, in most cases you can remove the control panel, and have access to the bulb. "1. Disconnect the electrical power to the microwave/oven combination. 2. Open the lower oven door. 3. Remove the bottom screw from each of the two side trim pieces. 4. To remove the side trim, pull the bottom out approximately 2?, and slide the top down to free it from the control panel. 5. Remove the screws from the oven control panel.6. To remove the oven control panel, pull it out at the bottom, and lift and unhook it from the oven cabinet support at the top. 7. Pull the ground clip on the end of the green wire from the edge of the metal panel, and disconnect the wire connectors from the board. Set the panel face down on a padded surface to protect the finish. 4. To remove the halogen lamp: a) Unclip the wire retainer and remove it.
b) Remove the lamp from the holder and remove the wires from the harness." Hopefully you won't have to separate the microwave from the oven assembly. Thanks and Good Luck
