is there a easy way to replace the door switch? Can you take the top off and get to it or do you have to take the whole cabinet off? Thanks!
Answer Hello Phil,
If you look about 5 inches from the floor at the front panel of your dryer, you will see a crease made into the metal. On each side of the dryer, an inch or so from the side, there is a large Phillips head screw. These two screws thread up at about a 45 degree angle toward the rear of the unit. If you remove these two screws, the bottom of the front panel will pivot up and will allow you to unhook the spring clips at the top. Careful when it comes out as the door switch wires are connected to the front panel. These should be labeled or take a picture of them with your cell phone so they do not get crossed. Now, of course, you will be looking at the door switch and it is easily replaced.
