I have a Kenmore Elite Gas Dryer that is old enough that I can't remember when it was purchased. It dries okay but has a high pitch whine when running. Are there any bearings that can be lubricated? Any likely fixes that don't require replacing the motor? Thanks

I replaced the motor on a whirlpool duet because it won't spin anymore. After replacing the motor and putting the dryer back together, and turning the machine on, the drum spins, but now it won't stop spinning. Pressing the cancel button turns off the control panel, but the machine keeps running. Even if the machine is spinning, there is no heat. The only way the machine can be stopped is if you open the door, or pull the plug from the wall socket. On timed dry, the minutes do not count down. The control panel was working fine before I replaced the motor. Is the control board now damaged?

My dryer currently won't run. all the diagnostic checks look good. the door switch and thermal switch check out. I ended up going back to my dryer technical sheet and following all the steps from the beginning to see what my problem might be. Everything checked out fine until I got to the motor circuit test. After struggling to find the right terminals to test I think I finally found them and showed infinite resistance on both the main and start motor circuit. I assume the motor is dead and needs to be replaced but I am not sure. I find it odd that both circuits would be blown at the same time. Is that normal or am I not checking out the motor properly? Any help is appreciated.
