My washer will not spin. I have checked and cleaned and ruled out the drain pump and confirmed the door switch is working.
Now I am trying to determine if I need to replace the drive pulley or the motor. How can I tell if the drive pulley is bad?
Answer Hello Melanie,
You need to pull the tech sheet and run a few tests. I would first try the diagnostics to pull any stored fault codes. If no codes, run the motor continuity test and test for voltage to the motor. In case you cannot find the tech sheet behind the bottom front panel, we can send you a copy if you provide an e-mail address for us to send it to.
Just bought a replacement pulley and there is just a little bit of play in it after it is on the shaft when you spin it. Is this normal?
Just a small bit of play in the pulley will not have an effect on the operation of the unit. If it is front to back play then you will need to make sure that the bolt is fully seated.
