Hello, I just replaced my front, rear bearings and lip seal yesterday and now my washer won't spin at full speed on the spin cycle. Does the large pulley wheel need to sit flush on the teeth in back of drum? mine has about an 1/8" overhang.the pulley turns freely by hand but when I tighten the 9/16th nut onto the pulley it makes it harder to turn. I'm thinking that this is not allowing the washer to spin at full speed. Is this possible and if so does that mean I have to take it apart again and push inner drum in farther so it sticks farther out the back for pulley to sit flush?

Answer Hello CB, The pulley should sit flush with the teeth on the back of the drum. Make sure that inner tub is pushed all the way through the tub bearing and make sure that you installed all necessary parts on the unit.

This wash machine is incredibly noisy when it spins,the noise is getting worse and sounds like a bearing going out. In your parts diagraphm it does not show the bearings. Am I guessing right and what do I have to but to fix.

Answer Hello Gary. Yes, it sounds like a bearing issue. You will need to order and replace the outer tub assembly W10213923 on the unit to repair the unit.

I have a Kenmore Elite He3t washer type 199-702 GT-BC and the tub (drum) will no longer turn without having to use both hands on the pulley to turn it. I am leaning towards having to replace the bearings in the tub. I don't see any rub marks on the back of the tub from the pulley. Any help would be appreciated.

Answer Bob, You're probably on target, but check the Belt W10388414 for excess slippage or damage. check the motor mount and bolts for loose fitting or brokrn components, first. To replace the tub bearings, you'd need to order and replace the rear outer tub assembly W10253866 . Good Luck

I have a duet washer that shakes at high speeds. Not just a little but quite a bit. When we first got it there was no shake like now Even though the previous owners complained about it. They of course didn't have the washer level. When it started shaking with large loads I tried a small load. Like one sheet. High speed is not an option now so we use medium. I read online that if the shocks work,which how would you know. They move up and down freely but seem really cheap. They also said it could be the springs. Which are fully attached. If that wasn't it the bearing needs to be replaced. Before removing the pulley I noticed that there's about an 1/8" wobble in the pulley. You can even see it in the rub marks from the belt. Bearing seems solid but I know it takes a lot of pressure to know that. Is the pulley the problem. I would think that much wobble at what seems to be 10000 rpm would make anything wobble/ shake but how would that get bent. Or is the bearing still the culprit? If so how do you remove the bearing. I see the snap ring but haven't proceeded any further. Any assistance would be great! Thank you Joe. Feels like a drive shaft is going out on a front wheel drive vehicle.

Answer Hi Joe. As long as the pulley part # 8540088C has not worn a groove too far into the back of the tub area creating a leak. It can be that the rear pulley nut part # W10283361 came loose initially and started the whole issue. Is there any grinding from the spin bearing ? With the pulley off, spin the front of the tub and see if the run out is greater then 3/8". If the spin basket is out of round then this will induce a high speed spin. Basket part # 8540357. It is common that the shocks can become weak. Un hook either the top or the bottom of the shock and see if they no longer have strong resistance. If not you need to replace all of them at the same time to set the basket squarely and start fresh. Shock part # W10480711. Thank You.

The drive pulley moves 3 inches before ingaging drum, drum turns bearings seem to be ok. How to I lock the drum to get the nut off the pulley to inspect it.

Answer Hi Mike. You may need someone to hold the drum from the front in order to loosen the pulley nut. If the pulley is worn this bad, you need to replace it with pulley part # 8182650. Nut is part # W10283361. If the basket shaft is worn, the basket asy. is part # W10250573. Thank You.
