How to replace belt on this model?
Answer Hello AJ. Disconnect the power and remove the toe panel. Next remove the top front panel on the unit. Once removed, you can relace the belt. Here is a link to help you. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/dryer-repair/25860-dryer-belt-diagrams.html
My dryer makes a noise when it spins, and then it wouldnt spin at all. It just makes a humming noise when I try to turn it on. Could it be the motor?
Answer Hello April. Yes, it sounds like the motor is bad and will need to bwe replaced. If you can start the drum by hand and it run, then the motor is bad.
Hi, I have a maytag dryer, legacy series. The lint catcher, when you open the door is at the bottom, controls are on top (rasied part), how do I get to the belt, front or back of the unit?
To access the belt, there is a service panel at the bottom of the front. You will first need to disconnect the power supply. Remove the screws at the bottom of the panel. Lift the bottom of the panel outward to release the spring clips and panel locators. Remove the screws holding the front panel located at the bottom of the panel and lift the bottom of the front panel outward to release from top panel. You will need to lift the main top by removing the screws securing the cabinet top to the side panels. When you disconnect the door switch make sure that you mark the wires to ensure that you know how they are connected or take a picture of how they are connected. You will then remove 4 screws holding the front bulkhead assembly. This will allow you to take the belt off.
