Hi, I watched your video and was wondering if there was any way I could put the new catch in without having to disaamble the door itself? Thanks, I am a woman that is separated and is only reliant upon myself to do this. Thanks!

I need to replace the door catcher. There are two of them. Can I use the other to replace the bad one. If I need to buy a new one, how do I go about ordering a new one. Your video/picture does not seem to be resembling mine. My catcher is all metal from the outside.

Latest Questions

Not certain that the last character in mod # is an oh or zero. It is a Whirlpool electric dryer and I need the female catch for the door. Your picture shows the internal part of the catch and it looks like mine but mine also has a plastic rectangular retainer that is on the outside of the door which I am not sure your part picture shows - hard for my old eyes to tell. It is that rectangular/square plastic part that has cracked and broken in several places so that the catch now falls into the inside of the door. Looks like the assembly would be pushed thru the outside of the door and the metal wings would flare and hold it fast against the plastic retainer on the outside. Hope this is understandable, struggling to find description that is understandable. By the out side of the door I am really describing the surface that would be facing into the dryer cavity, not visible when the door is closed in the operating position. thanks for a reply and part number.

Found an easy way to remove and replace the female dryer door catch; use a small nail set to compress (lightly hammer it closed) the catch's top release stop (a small tab cut from the sheet metal housing )push the catch back in -push up the bottom of the catch housing to allow the catch stop to slide past the bottom of the catch hole; the top stop is now not inpeding the top of the catch housing so the entire catch easily pulls out . Take the new catch hand compress the top and bottom lips of the catch and slide it in. Done!

Hi, I managed to remove the old dryer catch without removing the door panel. Does the new door catch snap right into the opening without having to remove the panel? Thanks-Heather
