This is frustrating. The part that is shown in the video is the metal door latch. The part for order on this page is the plastic latch. I have a stackable W/D, LSE7806ACM. The part I need is the plastic latch. I have gone to a couple of local parts warehouses and been directed to part LA-1003. This is the wrong one. Please assure me that if I order part 306436 that it is the plastic latch not the metal one. thanks.

The door latch ( male part ) just fell out.I got the door off. got the square like part in hand but I can not see how to force the male part into the cut out square hole. the locking edges will not seem to click into place ! I am 72 years old with not much strength in my hands. the metal male part with those sharp edges do not flex with my hand pressure. do i need a tool to compress the part inorder to allow the part to snap into the little square hole ? or do i need to buy a new part with male part already in place into the square hole ? thanks, jim vittetoe 4/23/2012

Answer Jim, Younger folks have an issue with setting that catch as well, Using a pair of needle nose pliers seems to help out quite a bit. In some cases you may also want to use a flat blade screwdriver as a "pusher" on the plate as you squeeze the tabs on the latch closer together carefully. Thanks and Good Luck
