How do I access the belt? Do I remove the bottom panel to get to the belt?
Frank
Answer Hello Frank,
You can remove the bottom panel to get to the belt but to remove and replace the belt you would have to remove the front panel and drum.
Hello,
I have a Maytag Neptune Dryer that came along with our new home purchase. It dries clothes, but at a high cost to our ears. It has a constant, loud, high-pitched squeal while it runs. Been doing this for the 3 months we had it. Now recently, the clothes have a burnt rubber smell to them when dried. My father-in-law and I pulled it apart early on to see if the belt was junk, but couldn't really tell.
This dryer may have been sitting idle for a good year while the home was on the market. Other than that, don't know much about it other than what I've seen on Youtube videos to pull it apart and get to stuff.
From all the questions I've seen, it appears that rollers, a belt and/or pulley tensioner would be a place to start. Any thought on a specific part possibly gone bad?

Answer Hello Eric. Yes, You will need to replace the rollers 12001541, post 6-3129480, and idler pulley 6-3700340 to repair the issue with the unit.
How do I get to the belt and take it off.
