My dryer was making a high pitched squeal for a couple of weeks, then stopped squealing. The drum turns fine, and the clothes got dry just fine as well. Last night the dryer made a loud clunk noise and stopped. The lights were still on, but when the back was taken out, now the belt is frayed. How to repair this?

My dryer turns really slow when we put a normal load in it, but if we lighten the load 1/4 to half it seems to run at normal speed. Question: Would this be caused by a worn out belt or is there something else causing this? Thanks

Hi, Good morning. I ordered and received a new dryer belt. I put it on, but when I run the dryer the belt won't stay on the track the old belt was on. Can you think of anything I did wrong. I am about to redo it. Thank you Teresa Domergue

If the dryer is screeching, but the belt isn't broken. Will changing the belt still fix it?

Last night our dryer had a high pitch squeal which I assumed was the belt. I stopped it and started it again and the noise stopped. However, this morning we were running it and the drum stopped turning but the timer and lights were all still on. Looking inside the toe plate panel the belt is not viably broken... Have recently replaced the thermostat and thermistor. Not sure what I need to replace. Any ideas?
