Is one 2 ounce tube of high temperature sealant enough to install both the front and rear seal?
Answer Hello Bob,
The 2 ounce tube Y055980 should be sufficient. It doesn't take much because if you use too much, the excess squeezes out anyway. Most people use too much while a small amount is all that is needed.
I think my gas dryer overconsumption.
A bottle of 15 kg of gas is consumed in two weeks by the dryer.
I changed both sensors Hi-limit and the other.
What do you think ?
Answer Husson, The dryer is equipped with a 22,000 BTU per hour burner. Depending on how many loads are dried and how long it takes to dry a load, it wont take long to consume 30 lbs (15Kg) of LP or Butane gas. It actually sounds within expectations.
Is high temperature adhesive required for replacing the front drum seal? I can see why it's required to use on the rear drum seal. The front seal appears to be held in place by metal tabs. I just ordered the front drum seal.
Answer Artie, you most likely have a "beige" colored drum. The manufacturer eliminated the high temp adhesive and glue doen seals, when they started using the beige tumbler and bulkheads. You should be fine with the part you have. Just remember , do not cut the seal, it is designed to overlap and fit inside the other end. make sure you install the end of the seal in the tumble direction, if incorrect, it will have a tendency to pull out and get caught in the clothes. Good Luck and Thanks
