It wont heat in timed dry but will work in another cycle. Is this the cycling thermostat ? and when I pulled off the connector to the other thermostat on the heating element, it just pops of easily now how do I fix that.
Answer Janice, If the dryer heats in one or more cycle selections but not in all the heat cycles, it isn't the thermal fuse, thermostat, etc. It's more likely to be a fault in the timer contacts W10185972. As for the loose fitting wire terminal, you will need to replace the terminal / re tip the wire with a 1/4 inch, high temp, 240 volt terminal TJMA02881-1 or similar terminal.
My electric dyer just quit making heat. All else runs. Guessing age of unit to be 8-9 years. Any suggestion?
Answer Hello Raymond. Check and make sure you have 240 volts coming to the dryer. Check and make sure the unit is not set to Air Fluff. Also check the heater and thermostats and see if they are good. You can test these with a multi-meter TJMA-DM1. They should read closed for continuity. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
