The display shows 2 dashes and the "normal" and "rinse only" lights are blinking (no other lights illuminate). The reset code Hi Temp Scrub, Energy Saver Dry, Hi Temp Scrub, Energy Saver Dry does not turn on any other indicators. I have bypassed the door latch switch(jumper) and I have bypassed the fuse(jumper) to no avail. Also I have checked the ribbon connections and everything is clean and well connected. Do you think this is this the control board or the touch Panel? How do I know if the machine in "standby"? Thanks!!! JS

Answer Hello Jody. According to the manufacture, if the door latch is good and is powering pin number 8 on the board, then you will need to replace the touch pad control panel. Hope this helps.

All lights on control panel light up when pressed to select desired schedule. Problem is when the start button is pressed nothing happens. No sounds or anything. The unit then shuts off the selected lights. Problem appears to be in the start of control. Does the control panel include switch located under the buttons? If I order the control panel is all the necessary parts included?

Answer Hello Mr. B. The control assembly is just the control board. Here is the part number for the user interface 8270168 with the buttons. It would be wise to replace the ribbon cable 8524447 as well. Hope this helps.

My unit appears to be dead. The fuse that is attached to the control board was burnt but still made continunity. I did replace the fuse but the unit is still dead. I do have power to the unit. No lights. Do you think it might be the control board and is there a way to check it before I buy a new one. Also what would cause the fuse to burn?

Answer Forthecos, If you have 120 vac going into the control board but nothing coming out of the control board then the control board is bad and would need to be replaced.

No heat when washing or drying. Thermister, high temp and heat coil all test correct for resistance. Back of circuit board behind relays is black/melted in one area. Suspect it's the relay for the heat cycle. Will replace the circuit board but wondering if there is a root cause for the failure other than age (7 yrs). I don't want to blow a $150 part on install!

Answer Kip, You will want to check to make sure that the wiring does not have any shorts in it but it sounds like the board failed due to faulty or weak part.

I have a 7 year old Kitchenaid dishwasher. I have replaced the touch panel and interface about 6 months ago with no problems. Now the dishwasher has stopped working. I can push the buttons to start with the corresponding leds lighting up. If I hit start it blinks like it should. However, the unit never starts. The only other issue I have noticed is that before this lately we we would see dirty water left in the unit. I just cleaned the chopper assembly but still won't start. Also did the diagnostic test hitting the four button combination with no luck. What could be the problem?

Answer Jeff, You will want to check to make sure that when you hit start that you are getting power to the water valve. The water valve energizing is the first step in the process. If there is no power to the water valve you will want to check wiring from valve back to control panel board and if wiring checks ok then check to make sure that the connection between the control board and user interface is a firm connection.
