The Repair Part List from Whirlpool lists the bake element for the top oven as part #3177423 but you list it as #3177420. Is this the same part? Thanks.

I have an oven with the bake element that looks like part # AP3026501. I have no continuity on the element itself and when I check voltage at the connection I have 241 VAC at start up and drops to about 95 VAC 15 seconds later. I assume that I have a bad element due to no continuity but why is my voltage dropping from 240 to 95 after 15 seconds ? Thanks in advance for any help...

Thanks for your previous answer! Now I wonder if the element is the problem. I checked the resistance with an ohm meter. There is continuity and it shows 25 ohm resistance. I checked that there is voltage (120volts)at the wires that connect to the element when the oven is on "bake" and no voltage when i change the dail broil or off. I'm wondering why it's 120 when the oven is in 240 circuit. Hope I'm not wearing out my welcome -- thanks for your help!!

Latest Questions

Does this element come with the ceramic or other supports that keep it off the bottom? It doesn not look like the old ones come off. Also, the picture looks like there is a push on tab on only one side for the wire connection. Mine has one on each side.
