Note: This question is for the older version of this part, but we thought you might still find it helpful
How do I change the bottom (hidden) heating element? Through the bottom? Thanks!
Answer Hello Ken,
Looks like the left body side will have to be removed to gain access to the hidden bake element. There will be screws down the back and a couple across the top of the body side. When they are removed, the body side should lift off of clips or tabs across the bottom.
There doesn't seem to be any service pointers at all on this unit. I'm guessing that it will be the left body side just from judging the fact that the wiring hooks up to the left side of the unit from the parts diagram.
With BAKE on, bottom (hidden) element doesn't heat up at all, however the top broil element comes on. The oven does not get to desired temp.
Answer Hello TR. First disconnect the power to the unit. Check the element and make sure it is good. It should read closed for continuity. If it is good, you will need to see if the clock is sending 240 volts to the element. If not, you will need to replace the clock. You can test these with a multi-meter TJMA-DM1. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
Please show me how to replace oven bake element model# WERP4120SQ.
Answer Hello! You wll need to unplug the range. Remove the bake element by removing the two screws that hold the bake element in. Remove the wiring from the bake element. You will need to do this one at a time. Install the new back element and screws. Plug the range back in and test!
