Hi, I want to know what the length, width, and total size of this item.
Answer Hello Kyle, the element is approximately 8 inches wide by 17 inches long. If you will provide a complete model number, I can determine if this part is right for your unit. Thanks!
How do I get the old element out? I want to replace part #ap4089257, do I have to take the top off? Can I do this my self? Thanks.
Answer Hi Jim. Remove power. Remove grill grates. Remove grate rocks. Remove center vent grill. Use a stubby Phillips screwdriver to remove all inside (side mounted) Phillips screws. Lift the top assy. off the burner LT. and RT. boxes. Unhook the wires. Unscrew the burner stud nuts. Part # 701719. The grill burner is part # 71003237. The rock plates are part # 74011338. Infinite switch is part # 71003237. Thank You.
I know the part number. My question was is this a plug-in grill or does it require an electrician to replace it. When I look at the parts list that came with the unit it appears to be a plug-in
Answer Hello John. You will need to disconnect the power going to the unit. The wires on the element are plug in type wires. You will remove the old element and unplug the wires, then install the new element 71003237 in reverse order. Hope this helps.
