My front right large burner (with dual simmer small burner) does not cycle temperature up and down it just goes full hot and stays there which burns most food. How do I fix that? and what is the replacement part number?
You could check your limiters on the unit to see if they are bad. If you check on the burner from 2a to 1a on the element there should be no continuity. If there is then the limiter is open and would need to replace the element. If it has no continuity then the switch is bad. To get into the unit you would need to pull the unit from installation and remove the screws around the perimeter of the cooktop that holds the main top in place.
The burners on top of the range are not getting as hot as they use to. Do I need to replace them with new units?
Answer Hello Bruce,
This can be the fault of the elements or the infinite switches. They both play a role in temperature control.
Left rear burner does not come on. Indicator light on control comes on. Does this indicate a bad burner or a bad control?
You can test to see which one is faulty by accessing the switch by pulling the unit out and removing the rear cover. With the burner turned on you will test for 240 vac on the H1 to H2 terminals on the switch. If there is 240 vac then the switch is good and the element is bad. If there is not 240 vac then the switch would need to be replaced.
