I have a Whirpool GR563LXSS1 Range and on the front dual burner only the outer ring lights up and produces heat. Not sure which part I would need to purchase to replace the inner ring or if it is something completely different that I need to purchase instead. Thank you for your help.

Answer Erin, There are two possibilities, a faulty infinite switch 9758060 or a faulty burner element 4453909. The easiest way to determine the issue is to test the switch first. Remove power to the range, remove the control panel back cover turn the switch to the low to medium setting and check for a "closed" circuit between the P2 terminal and the #4 terminal with the wires disconnected, with a multi meter. If the circuit doesn't close, then the switch has failed, if the switch is OK, the burner is at fault.

The duel front burner on my kitchen-aid superba seris is not is not working. Smaller element is out but large element is working. Do i need to replace entire unit part #4454909 or is this part number for the entire unit, both small and lg. burners ?

I have a Whirlpool GERC4110SQ. On the front-left burner, only the outer element heats up when I put the dial to dual. When I put the dial to single the inner element does not light up. It seems to me the element (mfg p/n 4453909) is damaged but I read some of the other posts and it seems the issue could also be the "Switch-Infinite Control" - I saw two mfg p/n referenced (9758060 & 9761048) but I don't know which one it would be. Thanks for you help.

Answer Hello Gavin, One way that you can try to determine which part is faulty is to take a flashlight and look to see if you can notice any burn marks on the middle of element. If there is a burn mark then you will have to replace element. You can test the switch on the unit by checking for voltage into and out of the switch. With switch turned onto small burner you should have 240vac from P2 to S2 this is input and should have 240 from P1 to 4 or 4a. If you do not have power at either one of these places then you need to replace the switch 9758060. If you do have power to these then you need to replace the element 4453909. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3.
