My fridge recently began to not stay cool on and off inconsistantly. The freezer still works fine. I have checked the settings and everything is normal as always. I've been told it could be my evaporator fan motor getting ready to go out on me? I was told to just wait till it goes out but the condensation when it's not working bugs me what do you recommend?
Answer Hello Rich,
Things that you would want to look for are clean condenser coils. Check condenser fan motor to make sure that it is operating. Check the door seal to make sure that it is sealing all the way around. Pull the rear cover off the freezer compartment and check to make sure that your drain is clear and do a continuity check on your defrost heater and defrost thermostat. Also, if you are getting ice droplets in the freezer compartment your fan may be turning on during defrost which would be a bad timer. If the coils are dirty or the condenser fan is not working then it will cause the compressor to overheat and shut down. This will cause warmer temps especially in the refrigerator compartment.
