I bought an evaporator fan motor to fix an intermittent loud noise from the freezer compartment. It helped, but after a week, the problem is back. I'm thinking that the temporary fix had to do with a worn part that is causing the fan to vibrate and loose efficiency. (When the loud noise occurs, the freezer warms up) I believe this because pressing on the evaporator cover can make the noise go away temporarily. The most obvious candidate is the soft plastic insert that goes on the motor shaft. It is molded to fit inside the fan scroll but I can't see it on my parts list as a separate item. Perhaps it is part of the fan blade. What else could be worn? Fan motor retainer? Suggestions?

hi I have a problem with the freezer, it seems to defreeze a lot and ice builds up on the bottom, I have to remove ice from the bottom every couple of days, could it be the fan, or what is the problem?? I know it is not the ice maker supply, water is turned off Thank you Inga

I just received the evaporator fan motor and I am trying to remove the old motor but I cannot remove the blade from it. Does it just snap on? The new motor has a groove in the shaft for the fan blade to mount. I don't want to break the fan blade because I will use on the new motor. Need a quick answer.
