The Evac motor was making a winning noise , I put oil on it and it was quiet for days. I ordered a new evac motor and put it in my whirlpool refrig and now after running quiet for two days it is making the sam winning noise. I was wanting to know what could cause both them to make the same winning noise. Could it be the freezer is to cold or circulation problem or a clogged air passage or drain line. Im out of ideas.

My freezer keeps icing up and the fridge is not cooling enough. I recenlty replaced the defrost timer (which helped). I have tested the bimetal defrost thermostat and it works as should. I have noticed that the evaporator fan does not come on at all. I have left the fridge running for a couple days and have yet to see it run. Could this be a defective fan or is it a control issue? Thanks, Rob

Latest Questions

Our fridge leaks from the freezer into the fridge-collecting water in the drawers and bottom of fridge. If we take the cover off the freezer and thaw out the tube in the back of the freezer, it stops leaking for a while. But it just freezes up again and starts leaking again.

Does anyone make an evaporator fan motor that will last more than 3 years. I've replaced this part three times and am beginning to think that this is intentional. Each time it's been the bearings (I should say bushings) that wear, causing the motor shaft to wear.

Are there any wires to connect and disconnect in replacing the evaporator fan motor, or is it just unscrewing and rescrewing the part?
