The condenser cooling fan motor underneath in the back of the refrigerator is running backwards from what I remember. I remember the warm air coming out the front grill onto the floor in front of the refrigerator. I have made no changes to the wiring, but noticed the change when I wasn't getting the normal cooling. The air is now exhausting out the back of the refrigerator, drawing the air from the front. How can that happen?

My freezer barely keeps food froze & my refrig is just cool not cold.I have been puting in dry ice blocks in my refrig I suspect that it is my evap fan. But it seems to work some. Is it possible for it to be faulty and just work once awhile? What else could it be. Also when I looked up the fan part online and found it. However, it shows as a Whirlpool. My frig is a kitchenaide. Are the whirpool and Kitchenaide one and the same? Will the whirpool be compatable?

Latest Questions

I have a noise that sounds like a small rattling engine coming from the area of the freezer evaporator fan. I'm assuming that the fan bearings are failing. Do you agree that this is likely a fan failure or could something else be causing the issue (such as a mounting grommet)? Since it's a fair amount of work to replace parts in the freezer box, I'd like high confidence that I'm not going to come up short on a part once I've got it disassembled. I'm also going to be ordering a condenser fan since I've verified that it has loose bearings (shaft is rattling) and is very loud. However, even with the condenser fan stopped, I still have a bunch of noise coming from the freezer evaporator area. Thereby, I'm guessing both fans need replacing. Box is only 6 years old...pretty disappointing! Please advise what part(s) you recommend for the freezer evaporator area.

Fan in freezer does not turn. How can I test to see if the fan motor has failed, or the power to the fan motor? Can I plug the fan into 120V and see it if spins (once removed from freezer)? Should I remove the leads to the fan and check the voltage? I will buy a fan motor, but there must be a quick test to verify that is the problem. Thanks

Kitchen Aid side by side refrigerator. I have noticed the evaporator fan motor will slave and pause 4 or 5 times (for a few seconds between each) before it comes on. When it dose come on I can hear the compressor and condenser fan come on as well. Also, I have noticed that the evaporator fan will pause for about 1 or 2 seconds every 25 seconds during the run cycle. The unit is working fine other than this. Is it a concern? Bad evap motor?
