Answer Hello Lori, The drum is actually held in place by tension from the belt pulling the drum down on the drum rollers. I would open the unit and remove the drum to check these drum rollers 349241T because they sound like they may have a problem.

Answer Hello Ron. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the front seal 279264 is bad and will need to be replaced. Hope this helps.
