My question is similar to Henry's, but I need to know if not having this filter will affect the pressure in the top-rack spray arm. My filter is missing, and I think this causes a big drop in the pressure required to make the top spray arm rotate. My top spray arm appears to stay in one position for the whole cycle.
Thanks,
Dave from Clinton, MI

Answer Dave, No the filter will not affect the wash motion of the upper spray arm, in fact the filter was removed from later versions of this style dishwasher. If the upper spray arm does not rotate, you need to verify the water fill level in the bottom of the tub. Start and allow the dishwasher to operate for 5 minutes., unlatch the door and remove the lower rack. The water level should be 1/2 way covering the heater element(at least). If the water level is correct, you'll need to check to see if the detergent or the rinse agent is sudsing or foaming. If the water level is too low then replace the fill valve 99002628.
Would not having this filter affect the lower sprayer and it not spray?

Answer Hello Henry. No, the over pressure filter 99002846 should not cause the lower spray arm not to work. You will need to check and make sure the water level is correct inside the tub assembly. It should fill to the bottom of the heater. If it is not, you will want to check the float assembly and make sure it is not stuck. If it is good, you will need to replace the water valve 99002628. If the water level is correct, you will want to check the impeller assembly and make sure it is not clogged or broken. If it is broke, you may need to replace the shaft assembly 6-919539. Hope this helps.
