I need to remove the doors to get the Fridge in the kitchen. How do I remove the water hose from the Water Connector Union?
Answer Bernard, You'll need to remove the kickplate / lower grille assembly, it snaps and locks in place with clips. On the freezer side of the compartment, you'll find the water inlet tube, held in a clip retainer, remove the tube, you'll find the "double male" tube connector, or a "john guess" fitting 4373559 you'll need to unscrew and remove, the self sealing nut off the tube connector, if you have the john guess fitting you'll need to press in on the collar arond the tube and then pull out. Once you've got the tube disconneected, and the water wiped up, you'll need to disconnect the wire harness connector at the bottom hinge, then remove the top door hinge cover, then remove the three 5/16 hex head screws, holding the hinge to the refrigerator cabinet. You need to be cautious, these style doors are a bit awkward to work with, and a little heavy, you need to lift the door high enough so the tube clears the hinge, or have a helper remove the tube as you raise the door. reverse the procedure, and once you have the water supply attached you'll want to dispense 3 to 4 quarts of water through the dispenser to clear any air or debris in the system.
