My dishwasher will finish the cycle but will still have water in the bottom of the dishwasher. I have already made sure the filter screen didn't have anything on it and it is clear. Could it be the float?
Answer Stacey, No it's not likely the float. The float controls the water into the tub, were it faulty, the dishwasher wouldn't fill(usually). It's more likely a clog or debris in the drain hose, collector, check ball/funnel assembly in the wash pump. Disconnect the dishwasher drain hose from the plumbing and drain the water into a large bucket, that may clear any clogs or debris, otherwise you'll need to dismantle the pump assembly and check.
Water acumulated in tub then overflowed. Does the float have something to do with this? I found it near the drain. What are the symptoms of a faulty hot inlet valve? Can it be tested?
Answer Hello David. If the machine was off and the unit filled up and overflowed, then the valve is leaking, and you will need to change the valve 3384890. The float only works when the machine is running. If the machine was running when this happened, then you will need to check and make sure the float is working properly. Hope this helps.
