Hi, I also pulled hard and broke off the "foot" of the float. The stem is still intact - and when I push it down, I can still hear the "click" of the switch. Do I need to replace it? If I don't replace it - what are the potential damages that can follow? Many Thanks! cheers, chin

I pulled up the Float W10077871 and after resistance it pulled out but the push nut or knob that was on the end is no longer there. The stem does not appear to be broken. When I replace the float I can feel behind the switch plate and there are no loose pieces. When the float is raised and lowered I can hear the switch activate. I have also run a quick cycle successfully. Is it necessary to have the knob (push nut) on the end of the stem for the float to work correctly? Thank You

I broke off the overflow protection float as I thought it was removable for cleaning. Can I just push a new one back in? Or do I have to disassemble the entire overflow protection sensor kit? Thanks!
