It seems some to me this foam tape for cooktop stove has the same resemblance as the 3M Interior Foam Tape Weather Strip? Am I right?

I need to install the cooktop on a new granite countertop. Do I need to use something like this foam tape under the cooktop? Is this the right product?

Answer Hello Lynn! The installation manual does not have any information regarding installation of this product in a granite countertop. You can use the foam tape if you wish. The reason for some sort of tape or caulk is usually used is in case there may be some imperfections in the countertop and it prohibits the cooktop from sitting flat. Hope this helps!
