Answer Keith, Your best bet would be to replace the Limit/Actuator switch 61005520 and the Actuator Pad 61003804 The switch contacts can get "sticky" and the pad and lever does have a tendency to wear and collapse after years of service.

Answer John, You'll want to remove power to the refrigerator, remove the dispenser facade/escutcheon 61005498, carefully remove the actuator oad 61004441 and check it for collapsing, cracks,etc. and debris on the plunger. Then you'll need to check the actuator switch 61005520 by removing the bracket assembly and flipping it over to access the switch, and check the switch plunger for a weak or sticky motion.

Answer Hello Dunne. You will need to check the control board 61005274 located in the dispenser. First disconnect the power to the unit. To access the board, you will need to remove the drip tray and the screws undr the tray. Then lift the dispenser cover off the freezer door and unplug the ribbon wire going to the control board. Then test and see if there is power at the control board or if the board is burnt. If so, it will need to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DM1.
