The handle to the oven door broke and then it shattered the glass. Is there anyone that has a replacement for this door?
Part # is 315944.
Answer Hello Linda! Unfortunately, the outer door 315944W and handle 77001119 has been discontinued with no further replacements or cross references available and our company is unaware of any other available sources. Sorry about that!
The front glass panel on my oven shattered, as I'm reading has happened to several other people! Can you direct me to the proper replacment sheet of glass? Serial Number 13633814ZS. Hope you can help! If you no longer carry the replacement glass, can I have a piece of glass cut to fit? Do I need to worry about making it high heat resistant, even though there are 2 inside glass layers on the oven door? Thank you very much for your help!
Answer Hello Ashley! The outer door glass on your model MGR5870BDW is part number 74006636. To change the glass in an oven door, you will need to determine how to remove the door on the model number you are working on. If you open the door to the first stopping point, some oven doors will lift off the unit in this position. On other models, you will see clips on the back of the hinge toward the opening where the hinge enters the range. If yours is like this, you will open the door all the way open, then pull the clips down until they stop and lock in place. Then close the door to the stopping point and lift the door off the range. If you door does not lift off, and it does not have the clips, then you will open the door all the way open. You will see a hole in the hinge at the bottom of the door. You will insert a pin or nail into that hole and close the door to the stopping point. Then you can lift the door off the unit. Once the door is removed, you will lay it on a soft surface and disassemble the door. Pay attention and make notes if needed for reassembly of the oven door. Once you have replaced the door glass, you will reinstall the oven door back onto the range in reverse order of the way you removed it. Hope this helps you, thanks!
